December, 1941: An excellent new history

Much has been written about the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. So when I learned of Craig Shirley's new book, I wondered why I would want to read yet another account of this tragic and historic event in American and Japanese history. But, it sounded like he had a different kind of book with information that hadn't been shared before. After downloading Shirley's book to my Kindle, I was glad I did! This is an important work with much new information: about the culture in 1941, the status of the military and the political environment at the time. This is very interesting material, well documented and cited, and written in an easy-to-read narrative style.

The book is called December 1941: 31 Days That Changed America and Saved the World. You can learn more about it and order your own copy from the Amazon link below.

U. S. News & World Report said: "The book also reveals...blockbuster historical moments. Shirley takes a new tack in his book about Pearl Harbor. Instead of just writing how it all went down, his book attempts to give readers a feel of how the country felt 70 years ago. He accomplishes that by providing anecdotal information from nearly 2,000 newspapers and magazines." I totally agree with that assessment. If you're a history buff or someone deeply interested in the Pearl Harbor attack and World War II, this is a "must read" for you, as it was for me.
