Crashing the financial system
Because there's so much of it on the airwaves, in print and on the web, I really try to stay away from writing about politics. However--as they say: "Having said that" I really have to comment this week on the politically manufactured debt ceiling crisis, a slamming on the brakes by Tea-party zealots in Congress. The U. S. has obligations. These should be kept. If the Republicans don't like these obligations--even though the majority of the America people do--they can change those commitments for the future. But don't try to do a crash dive and wreck the economy and worse than the shambles it's in. I try to put this perspective in Go figure my Wordchipper column released on July 28, 2011. Use that link or the one on the "selected columns" list on the right side of your screen.
