A visit with Roy C. "Pete" Pedersen at 94

Pete  at 94 - Photograph by Larry Gauper

I had a very interesting, informative and historical visit with Fargo legend Roy C. "Pete" Pedersen on November 12, 2011, at the Golden Living Center, Moorhead, Minnesota, where he resides. At 94, Pete has a memory to be envied by anyone at any age. In the 9 minute and 52 second video I photographed, edited and uploaded to YouTube, you'll see and hear Pete recount his long time career at WDAY, where he served in management and as an on-air personality during the pioneering days of the station.

Pete also shares some of his memories from World War II, where he took part in the Normandy invasion and the Battle of the Bulge. He remembers some of the city officials he worked with during his days on the Fargo City Commission and, of course, he cherishes his experiences as a student at North Dakota State University (Go Bison!). As a very active alumnus, Roy started the TeamMaker's Club and was indoctrinated into the Bison "Hall of Fame," which he founded.

You can view the video by clicking here. Enjoy!
