Thanks to John Manstrom for this shot of their family dog looking out the door at all that "white stuff" on the ground in the Atlanta, Georgia, area last year. This pooch is wondering if going outdoors is such a good idea on this day in January.
My friend and high school classmate, a retired Delta Captain and former U. S. Navy flyer, said they received 5 inches of snow during a storm last winter and it shut down the city for four days! My goodness, up here in Fargo (the town, not the Coen Bros. movie), shucks, it would take a lot more than 5 inches to shut us down. However, I envy John on his usual winter weather, as I do the weather my daughter and her family in experience in sunny Tampa Bay, and my son and his family enjoy in the foothills of the Las Vegas valley. Hey, what am I doing in up here? Now, that's a really good question, as you look at the photo of me with my trusty shovel, further on in this blog.
