Another fantastic time at Jasper's!

We had a great time again this year (2011) at Jasper's Theater, one mile east of Park Rapids, Minnesota, on Highway 10. The entire cast, shown above, including the amazing magic of my former colleague and WDAY alumnus, Jack Sand, did an absolutely superb job. New material and acts were added since last year and, in fact, I think the show was better than ever. I've seen it for three years in a row.  Click on pictures for larger images, use browser's "back arrow" to come back - photos by Candis Sommerfeld, my friend Harley's wife. And Harley on his horns (who always was terrific) is also not getting older, he's getting better, professionally!

Jack, a former WDAY-TV weather man and on-camera commercial personality, is shown here performing once of his most astounding tricks. How in the world he makes not one but two of these gals appear from out of the box, I'll never know.

As wonderous as Jack's magic is, what's even more astounding is the performance of a real show-stopper and we've watched him grow in both age and ability each year: 15-year-old Dan Brekke on the fiddle! Shown here with the two Johnson girls, Alexis on the left and Macy on the right, you won't believe your eyes and ears when you see and hear Dan perform his very energetic version of the Orange Blossom Special.

A special Gospel Show is being planned for this fall, plus other productions, so check 'em out along with a complete schedule at www.Jasperstheater.com
